Michael and Valerie Drury came - they own the beautiful Daniel, a red Persian. Daniel and Michael share their retirement, although Daniel is just over a year old!
My friend Lise Berube came to help for most of the day. The iced coffee was great.
The cats just love to have company, and company they got! Between 9am and 9pm there were between 80 and 90 people!
Valerie and Linda Lou Derrah are admiring the babies of Milan. There are seven! They will be five weeks old next Thursday.
Alice Blackmore came with her daughter Susan and two of Susan's friends. The girls were so sweet with the kittens. Alice was so impressed that I named a kitten after her that she brought the most lovely pink rose for me!
This is Jaguar. He is a black smoke Persian who will have copper eyes as an adult. There were smiles all around. Even the kittens were smiling!
Kelly Curtis and her friend Sally were here. Kelly was my cat sitter extraordinaire from 1998 to 2004. Elisabeth my lovely and elderly cat still recognizes Kelly when she visits!
My friends Nadine Ives and Eric Stephenson come over too. I teased Nadine about the red Persians and redheads. She insists she is a 'ginger'. Nadine has two cats Jemseg and Ginny. Both are from the Fredericton SPCA - she is a great cat owner.
Nadine and Lise are having a 'cat chat' while Eric is reading the information about ca-r-ma - Cat Rescue Maritimes. I had a table set up with information pamphlets and a donation box for ca-r-ma. The Fredericton Chapter has sponsored spay/neuter surgery for over 800 stray and homeless (feral) area cats since 2007. Great organization! If you would like to volunteer or would like more information go to ca-r-ma.org
Here are two of my favourite redheads!
