Off to a Raging Granny gig for the 10th Women's March

The Raging Grannies sang several songs at the Legislature here in Fredericton yesterday. We traveled to Moncton ten years ago to perform at the Imperial Theatre for the first Women's March to the UN.

This is my new hat. It's from Winners. I love it. It's squash-able for travel!

Tune: We're Off to See the Wizard B flat
Words: Lorna Drew

We're off to fight injustice
We can't do better than that
We've got some Granny songs to sing
We're wearing a Granny hat
Follow the yellow brick road and then
Sing our way to the UN
We're women fighting poverty again

We're marching with our sisters
Governments better beware
For violence in the world today
Hurts people everywhere
Wars and weapons keep us poor
That's one thing of which we're sure
Very, very, very, very sure

We're off to find a wizard
Someone who knows what it means
To bring a living wage to all
So every pot has beans
Someone who cares for children too
It could be me, it could be you
Let's see what every one of us can do
See what every one of us can do

** If you know of a cat or dog who gets a fish hook caught in their lip, the easy way to remove it is to cut the sharp hook end off with wire cutters. With the hook end gone, the fish hook will slip right out!

The hat is unsafe because there are two trout flies in the top of the hat. The cats were really interested in the hat and were batting it about.

The hat is safely up on the curtain pull.

Firefly's photo is in the Gleaner again today! Take a look in the Balance section of the local newspaper.
