The Fredericton SPCA is overflowing with adult cats for adoption and is planning a weekend special to entice families to consider adoption now, rather than later.
“To draw attention to the fact that we have more than 60 adult cats in need of homes in our facility today, we are running a special promotion this weekend – we are waiving all adoption fees for adult cats one year or older,” says Fredericton SPCA executive director Stephanie Walsh.
“Our goal is to adopt 30 cats out in three days and free up some much-needed space in our facility. We are hopeful people who were considering an addition to their family will come forward and adopt now.”
The Fredericton SPCA is offering all adult cats for a donation to the organization this weekend only (Friday through Sunday) in an effort to help find more homes for animals. All cats are spayed or neutered, have been given a permanent microchip ID and are vaccinated. Normally, the cat adoption fee is $85. The value of those procedures is well over $200.
All regular adoption procedures remain in place during this special event, to ensure all cats find the appropriate home.
The Fredericton SPCA is located at 165 Hilton Road in Fredericton and is open weekdays from 11 am to 6 pm and weekends from 11 am to 4 pm. View all animals for adoption at www.frederictonspca.ca
“As an organization, we are committed to the philosophy that every healthy, adoptable animal deserves a home, but we cannot do it alone. We rely on the community to step forward and adopt, knowing they save the life of the animal they take home, but also free up valuable space for another animal in need,” says Walsh.
