The Open House

This is a photo of  Marc Vienneau, my old friend Sandra Boone`s son. It hangs in my entry way awaiting pickup by Marc when he is home from Winnipeg this summer.
Saint Francis of Assisi guards the house well and alerts passers by that we are animal lovers.
These are the gorgeous butternut doors separating  the entry way and the front hall. Ten years ago Duane Boone refinished them to their original glory. They had fifteen coats of white oil hased paint on them. Hugh MacKinnon of Shades of Light fame did the rippled rose coloured glass. He dubbed it `the virgin glass`as so much of this has been used in church stained glass windows for the virgin - not appropriate here ha ha!

The Open House was smaller this year than last. People stayed longer and asked lots of questions - it was great fun. I didn`t advertise is well this year (on purpose) because of my shoulder surgery.
